Fatima Sana leads Pakistan in Asia Cup, India clash on Sept 5

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has named Fatima Sana as captain for both the Women's T20 Asia Cup and the Asian Games. Sana returns after missing the recent T20I series against Sri Lanka while playing in The Hundred.

Pakistan are in Group A of the Asia Cup with India, Thailand, and Hong Kong-China. The tournament runs from August 28 to September 13 in Dubai. According to PCB, Pakistan will face Thailand on September 1, India on September 5, and Hong Kong-China on September 7. The semi-finals are on September 10 and 11, with the final on September 13. All Group A matches are at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Pakistan also secured a direct quarter-final berth in the Asian Games cricket event, starting September 17 in Aichi, Japan. They face Thailand in the quarter-final, followed by semi-finals on September 20 and medal matches on September 22. The Asian Games squad includes veteran batter Aliya Riaz, while Sadaf Shamas and Sidra Amin were left out.
