Pakistan name women’s squads for Asia Cup and Asian Games

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Sunday named 15-member squads for the Women's T20 Asia Cup and the 2026 Asian Games, with Fatima Sana captaining both teams. She missed the recent T20I series against Sri Lanka while playing in The Hundred. Veteran batter Aliya Riaz has been included in the Asian Games squad, while Sadaf Shams and Sidra Amin have not been selected.

The Asia Cup runs from August 28 to September 13 in the UAE, with eight teams in two groups. Pakistan are in Group A with India, Thailand and Hong Kong. The Times of India reports Pakistan will play Thailand on September 1, India on September 5 and Hong Kong on September 7. News ABPLive says India will face Thailand on August 30 and Hong Kong on September 3, with the India-Pakistan clash on September 5. All Group A matches are at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Pakistan have secured a direct quarter-final berth in the Asian Games women's cricket competition in Aichi, Japan. Their quarter-final is against Thailand on September 17, with semi-finals on September 20 and medal matches on September 22. Pakistan women won Asian Games gold in 2010 and 2014 but finished fourth in 2022.
