Gorakhpur-Bandra festival special train: trips on 9, 16 November
The Story in Brief
Indian Railways will run a festival special train between Gorakhpur and Mumbai’s Bandra Terminus in November, with two trips in each direction. Train 05091 will leave Gorakhpur at 9:55 PM on 9 and 16 November, reaching Bandra Terminus at noon the next day. The return service, train 05092, departs Bandra Terminus at 1:45 PM on 11 and 18 November, arriving Gorakhpur at 11:55 PM.
The 21-coach train includes two LSLRD, 11 general and eight sleeper coaches. It will stop at Basti, Gonda, Lucknow, Kanpur Central, Tundla, Idgah Agra, Gangapur City, Kota, Bhawani Mandi, Ratlam, Vadodara, Surat, Vapi and Borivali. The return run also halts at Aishbagh and Badshahnagar in Lucknow. The service is meant to manage the festive passenger rush.
Indian Opinion Analysis
The announcement means passengers on this corridor get an extra option during the peak festive travel window, but with only four departures total the service is a drop-in and not a permanent capacity increase. The schedule shows overnight journeys each way, and the coach composition, just eight sleeper berths against 11 general compartments, suggests the railway expects a largely unreserved crowd. No fare or booking window has been stated, leaving travelers to check for themselves when tickets open.
