કેરળના મુખ્યમંત્રી વી.ડી. સતીશનએ ઓણમ તહેવાર માટે સામાજિક સુરક્ષા પેન્શન 19 ઓગસ્ટથી શરૂ થશે તેવી જાહેરાત કરી. સરકારે પેન્શન માટે રૂ.1,105 કરોડ અને કર્મચારી બોનસ તથા ભથ્થાં માટે રૂ.630 કરોડ મંજૂર કર્યા. દરેક કર્મચારીને રૂ.4,500 બોનસ અને રૂ.20,000 એડવાન્સ મળશે. 6 લાખથી વધુ ઓણમ કિટ વિતરિત કરવામાં આવશે.
