Gurugram woman biker to file FIR in hit-and-run case

A woman biker named Siya, who was injured after a car allegedly rammed her motorcycle on Golf Course Road in Gurugram, has said she will file a First Information Report through her lawyer. In an Instagram post, she thanked supporters but declined to reveal her identity or give media interviews. Gurugram Police have taken suo motu cognizance of the viral video and registered an FIR at Sector 56 police station, even though the victim had not submitted a formal complaint, reports India Today.

Police have identified the accused driver as Deepak, a resident of Karnal district. The car is owned by an Army personnel posted in Assam, who had lent it to a friend. Three police teams are conducting raids to trace Deepak, who remains absconding, and to recover the vehicle. The Times of India adds that a friend of the biker chased the car to a traffic signal and confronted the driver, who allegedly denied responsibility and fled.
