Hyderabad Passport Mela on November 21 with 4,000 slots
The Story in Brief
The Regional Passport Office Hyderabad will hold a special Passport Mela on November 21, releasing 4,000 appointments for Normal passports, Tatkaal passports and Police Clearance Certificates. Slots will be open to applicants across all Passport Seva Kendras and Post Office Passport Seva Kendras under RPO Hyderabad's jurisdiction.
Regional Passport Officer Madhav R. Sulphule said bookings open from November 3. The drive is aimed at addressing the growing demand for passport services and reducing waiting periods for appointments.
Indian Opinion Analysis
Both outlets report the same facts on the Hyderabad Passport Mela identically: 4,000 appointments on November 21, slots opening November 3, covering Normal, Tatkal and PCC services. The coverage is uniform straight reporting with no discernible slant. The key implication is the measure's scale: 4,000 slots for a single day's drive signals the extent of backlog the RPO is attempting to clear as demand outpaces regular appointment availability. Whether this will materially shorten wait times depends on the volume of applications on November 3 and how quickly the slots are booked.
