India and Lesotho set next bilateral commission meeting for 2027

India and Lesotho held the sixth session of their Joint Bilateral Commission for Cooperation in New Delhi on 30 July, co-chaired by Janesh Kain, the Ministry of External Affairs' Joint Secretary for East and Southern Africa, and Thabang Lekhela, Principal Secretary in Lesotho's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Relations, according to the Hindu BusinessLine, citing an MEA statement. The two sides reviewed cooperation on trade, development partnership, skilling and capacity building, and coordination at regional and multilateral forums including the United Nations. The visiting delegation also met Secretary (Economic Relations) Sudhakar Dalela and held separate talks with India's agriculture ministry and commerce department on sector cooperation. Lesotho's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Relations said the two sides had advanced discussions on several proposed memoranda of understanding and agreed to sign them at the earliest opportunity, and India renewed its invitation for Lesotho to join the International Solar Alliance and the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure. The next commission session is set for Maseru in 2027.
