Jharkhand cancels all TSR Data exams since 2014

The Jharkhand Cabinet on Monday cancelled all competitive and recruitment examinations conducted by outsourced agency TSR Data Processing Pvt Ltd (TDPL) since 2014, including the JSSC-CGL exam. Chief Minister Hemant Soren announced the decision after a cabinet meeting, citing shocking revelations from SIT and CID probes into an alleged exam racket involving multiple companies.

The move came on the 24th day of student protests demanding a CBI investigation into irregularities. Student leader Devendra Mahto, on an indefinite hunger strike, called it a victory but said the agitators were 'not fully satisfied'. However, candidates who had cleared the JSSC-CGL exam protested, saying they joined through a fair process with the Supreme Court's approval and are now left jobless.

Soren said an examination reforms committee headed by IAS officer Amitabh Kaushal has been formed. The government said candidates affected by the cancellation are free to take legal recourse. Further guidelines on re-examinations and redressal are expected shortly.
