Karnataka minister hands Rs 15 lakh aid to Thirthahalli landslide kin

Minister Shivaraj Tangadagi on Friday visited Kakkaragol village in Karatagi taluk to console the family of three persons killed in the Thirthahalli landslide in Shivamogga district. He handed over documents confirming the release of Rs 15 lakh in disaster relief, with Rs 7.5 lakh each credited directly to the bank accounts of the two daughters of the deceased couple, Divya and Mahalakshmi. The receipts were given to the children in the presence of their grandmother Gouramma.

Tangadagi assured support for the girls' education, offering admission to a government residential children's home or monthly financial assistance of Rs 4,000 per child for three years under a sponsorship scheme. He also promised a house through the gram panchayat and said directions were issued to the Deputy Commissioner to reimburse medical expenses for two injured persons, Hanumanth and Amruth. The landslide claimed three lives from the same family.
