ಶ್ರೀಲಂಕಾದ ಕಾಣೆಯಾದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳ ಕಚೇರಿ (OMP) ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಮಹೇಶ್ ಕಟುಲಂದಾ ಗುರುವಾರ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಸುಮಾರು 17,000 ಸಕ್ರಿಯ ಕಾಣೆಯಾದ ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳನ್ನು ತನಿಖೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಅದರ ಡೇಟಾಬೇಸ್ನಲ್ಲಿ 2009 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊನೆಗೊಂಡ LTTE ಯೊಂದಿಗಿನ ದಶಕಗಳ ಅಂತರ್ಯುದ್ಧದ ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳು ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಒಟ್ಟು 23,000 ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳಿವೆ.
