Malappuram reviews 602 projects under 100-day plan

Public Works Minister P.K. Basheer reviewed 602 projects across 50 departments in Malappuram under the state government's 100-day action plan on Monday. The projects include 479 livelihood initiatives and 123 infrastructure projects. Agriculture and allied sectors account for 95 projects, industry and entrepreneurship 65, transport and public works 82, water resources and irrigation 23, and local self-government 20.

The district has cleared 3,700 of 4,600 land-use conversion applications. Of 2,057 land titles to be issued, 1,057 have been distributed. Of 4,700 complaints related to digital land surveys, 300 have been resolved, while 59 of 250 complaints on land fair value have been settled. Construction of seven smart villages is planned, with six scheduled for inauguration under the programme.

Minister Basheer directed officials to expedite computer and vehicle purchases for schools using MLA funds, release pending instalments under the forest-dweller rehabilitation scheme, and remove technical hurdles delaying a hatchery at Edavanna. He urged departments to conduct field visits and formulate innovative projects for the district's development.
