Mohun Bagan beat Jamshedpur FC 9-8 on penalties in Durand Cup quarterfinal

Mohun Bagan Super Giant defeated Jamshedpur FC 9-8 in a penalty shootout after the Durand Cup 2026 quarterfinal ended 1-1 at Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on August 17. Sahal Abdul Samad gave Mohun Bagan the lead in the second minute, but Devendra Murgaonkar equalised for Jamshedpur just before half-time.

Sportstar reports that it was the first goal Mohun Bagan conceded in this year's tournament. The match went straight to penalties with no extra time, and Mohun Bagan converted nine of their 10 spot kicks to Jamshedpur's eight. SC Delhi and East Bengal had already qualified for the semi-finals, and Mohun Bagan will join them.
