Navy sailor, wife and two children found dead in Mumbai home

An Indian Navy sailor, his wife, and their two children, aged two months and three years, were found dead at their residence in Navy Nagar, south Mumbai, on Saturday night. The Cuff Parade police said the sailor was found hanging, while his wife and children appeared to have been poisoned, based on preliminary findings.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem to confirm the cause of death, and a forensic examination is under way. Hindustan Times reported that Deputy Commissioner of Police Manish Kelwaniya said neighbours, relatives, and colleagues are being questioned to determine whether the sailor was under stress or facing family tensions.

The Indian Navy confirmed the deaths in a statement and said it is extending full assistance to the police investigation. Rediff.com reported that Navy authorities are cooperating with the probe. The post-mortem reports are awaited to establish the exact sequence of events.
