Nimisha Sajayan’s Babita Singh Reporting gets August 28 release

Investigative drama Babita Singh Reporting, starring Nimisha Sajayan, will premiere on Prime Video on August 28. The film also stars Barun Sobti and Anshumaan Pushkar, and is directed by Ambiecka Pandit. Sudip Sharma, creator of Paatal Lok and Kohrra, serves as executive producer, and the script is by Amita Vyas.

Set in a small Indian town, the story follows suspended police officer Babita (Sajayan) who investigates the murder of a childhood friend. Cinema Express reports the film explores grounded realism, layered characters and complex family dynamics. Telangana Today adds that the narrative also tackles grief, relationships and the protagonist's journey of self-discovery.

Nikhil Madhok, head of Originals at Prime Video India, described the film as a deeply human story about a woman reclaiming her voice. Sharma said the film centres on a crime but is ultimately about a woman who has always sought validation from others. The film is produced by Film Squad Productions in association with Act Three.
