Nivin Pauly refuses vulgar song, waits for delayed ‘Benz’ shoot

Nivin Pauly has said he refused to act in a song with vulgar lines early in his career, insisting the makers change it. The Malayalam actor, known for clean romantic comedies, said in an interview with Cue Studio, 'I am against vulgarity in my films. If you don't want me, throw me out, but I won't do it.' He added the song was eventually changed to end on a lighter note. The actor is currently receiving praise for his performance in 'Bethlehem Kudumba Unit', which released last week and will have Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions on September 4.

Separately, Nivin expressed frustration over the delay of his Tamil film 'Benz', part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe. Speaking to Rekha Menon, he said 30-35 days of shooting remain and he has been forced to maintain his character's beard across other projects. The actor began shooting in October 2023. The film, directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan, also stars Ravi Mohan and Samyuktha. Times of India reports Nivin joked, 'I'm sick and tired of calling them about this. Guys, please make a decision and complete the film.'
