Noida AC skywalk opening delayed to August 25

The AC skywalk connecting Noida Sector 51 and Sector 52 metro stations will not open on August 16 as planned. According to Noida Authority sources cited by indiatvnews.com, technical work has pushed the opening to August 25. The facility includes a travelator and connects an Aqua Line station with a Blue Line station.

Separately, businesstoday.in reports that construction of a new skywalk near Sector 1 will begin within a month. The Rs 15 crore project will be built under the Build-Operate-Transfer model, with the selected agency financing it in exchange for advertising rights and maintaining the structure for 15 years. The skywalk will serve the Sector 15 metro station, coaching centres and Sector 14, and include two escalators and a lift.

The Sector 1 skywalk project had been pending for 12-15 years due to land disputes. Officials said the project aims to reduce pedestrian crossing risks and traffic disruption at the busy intersection. Survey and marking work is expected to begin within a week.
