Noida airport calls viral flooding videos fake, files FIR

Noida International Airport has called viral social media videos showing waterlogging at the facility fake and said flight operations continue normally. The Uttar Pradesh Police have filed an FIR against a Facebook account named 'Sach Bolo' after the airport management complained that the clips were misleading and could damage the airport's reputation.

The clarification came after heavy rainfall on August 15 caused temporary water accumulation in a passage between the terminal and parking area. The airport said the water was cleared in under 30 minutes and did not affect operations. The Times of India reports that the Aam Aadmi Party alleged the incident exposed 'corruption and shoddy construction' at the Rs 11,200 crore airport, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in March.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav also criticised the government on X, asking if boats would now run at the airport. The Jewar police are conducting a technical examination of the viral video and the social media accounts involved, seeking the source and purpose of the content.
