Noida and Gurgaon women question high rents, low salaries

Two women from Noida and Gurgaon have sparked online discussions about the difficulty of affording rent on modest salaries. In a video shared on Instagram, Sarita Gupta, a Noida resident, said she had seen job offers of Rs 14,000 to Rs 15,000 for 12-hour shifts with no weekly day off. She questioned how people could afford accommodation in Noida Sector 76 and said a family member was considering returning to their village.

Separately, Astha, a Gurgaon woman, said she had been searching for a 1BHK flat and was quoted rents between Rs 15,000 and Rs 20,000 a month. She complained that working felt like paying only landlords and also criticised the city's drainage system. Hindustan Times reported both videos had drawn sympathetic reactions, with some users suggesting shared housing or moving to Old Gurgaon for cheaper options. The outlet has not independently verified the claims.
