Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie Scores Franchise-Best $7.4 Million Opening Day

Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie opened to $7.4 million on Friday in North America, the biggest opening day in the franchise's history. It ranked third at the box office, just behind The End of Oak Street.

The previous franchise record of $6.8 million was held by 2023's Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie. The first Paw Patrol film earned $4.5 million on its opening day. Paramount expects the sequel to earn between $20 million and $25 million in its opening weekend, placing it in the top five. The film has received positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

Directed by Cal Brunker and based on Keith Chapman's TV series, the sequel follows the Paw Patrol team as they team up with a new friend, Rex, to protect dinosaurs from Mayor Humdinger. It is the third theatrical release in the franchise and was released on August 14.
