Phek electoral rolls ready, claims open till Oct 20
Electoral rolls for four Assembly constituencies in Phek district, 16-Pfutsero, 17-Chizami, 18-Chozuba and 19-Phek, have been prepared under the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960. Copies are available for inspection at the offices of the Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) during office hours.
The EROs have invited claims for inclusion of names, objections to any name, or corrections to entries in the rolls. Submissions must be made using Form 6, Form 7 or Form 8, and reach the respective ERO, AERO or BLO by October 20. Forms can be delivered in person or sent by post, according to an official notification from the Phek Deputy Commissioner.
Indian Opinion Analysis
The notification opens a defined window for citizens in four constituencies to correct or update their voter records before the next election cycle. Any resident whose name is missing or whose details are wrong must act by the deadline: after October 20, no changes will be accepted until a future revision. The process relies on paper forms and physical submission, which may limit access for voters in remote parts of the district. The next step is the October 20 cutoff for all claims and objections.
