PM Modi said ‘Mere Pyare Deshwasiyon’ 40 times in I-Day speech

In his 80th Independence Day speech, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation as 'Mere Pyare Deshwasiyon' nearly 40 times. It was his 13th consecutive address from the Red Fort.

The usage of the phrase has fluctuated over the years: last year it was mentioned 50 times, in 2024 about 30, in 2023 nearly 15, and in 2022 over 40. He also used 'sathiyon' (friends) 10 times, down from 35 times in the previous year. Once he called upon 'mere pyare yuva' to join efforts against drugs.

In 2023, Modi's preferred address was 'parivaarjan' (family member) with about 50 mentions. 'Deshwashiyon' has remained a constant term in his Independence Day speeches.
