Prakasam joint collector flags off anti-trafficking rally

Prakasam joint collector Kalpana Kumari flagged off a large awareness rally in Ongole on Thursday to mark the World Day against Trafficking in Persons. She said human trafficking is the second largest crime in the world and warned that traffickers use social media to lure victims with false promises of love and jobs.

Kumari added that poor people are taken to other states and foreign countries and forced into prostitution. She urged officials to hold monthly coordination meetings through the district Anti-Human Trafficking Unit and to closely track missing girls and women.
