Prakash Raj defends Vijay’s UK trip, asks one-year grace period

Senior actor Prakash Raj has defended Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay's overseas trip to England, saying there is nothing wrong in the CM travelling abroad and meeting his friend, actor Ajith Kumar. Speaking in Tiruchirappalli, Prakash Raj said the focus should be on whether Vijay achieved the purpose of the trip. Vijay has claimed he brought in investments worth several thousand crores.

Prakash Raj also urged patience in assessing the TVK government's performance, saying it has completed only about 120 days in office. He asked for at least one year before commenting, adding that he would question the government if it fails to deliver after that period. He said he is waiting for the first Budget before making further comments.

Vijay and Ajith met at the Le Mans Cup race in Silverstone, England, where Vijay waved the ceremonial flag. Opposition parties had questioned the transparency and public expenditure of the maiden overseas trip. Prakash Raj said people must respect democracy and not rush to criticise those in power.
