Pratika Rawal pulls out of Warwickshire stint for Asia Cup

Pratika Rawal has pulled out of her Warwickshire stint for the Metro Bank One Day Cup after being called up to India's Women's Asia Cup squad on Friday, Sportstar reports. Rawal, a member of the ODI World Cup-winning squad, replaced the injured Jemimah Rodrigues.

Rodrigues suffered a right hamstring tear while playing for Southern Brave in the Hundred on August 3. The BCCI Medical Team confirmed the injury after assessment at its Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, ruling her out of the Asia Cup and the Asian Games. Rawal was set to join Warwickshire for the remainder of the season.

Warwickshire head coach Ali Maiden said the team was disappointed to lose Rawal but wished her well. 'We've still got a lot to play for in the remaining weeks of the season and we're confident in the squad,' Maiden said, adding that playing for your country is the ultimate honour.
