Pratika Rawal to miss Warwickshire stint after Asia Cup call-up

World Cup winner Pratika Rawal will not join Warwickshire for the Metro Bank One Day Cup after being named as an injury replacement for Jemimah Rodrigues in India’s Women’s Asia Cup squad, Sportstar reports.

Rodrigues was ruled out of the Asia Cup and Asian Games after tearing her right hamstring while playing for Southern Brave in The Hundred. The BCCI medical team confirmed the severity of the injury. Warwickshire head coach Ali Maiden said the club was disappointed to lose Rawal but wished her well, noting that playing for one’s country is the ultimate honour.

Rawal, part of India’s ODI World Cup-winning squad last year, now joins the national side for the upcoming Asia Cup and Asian Games.
