Spain break Australia’s record for most consecutive cricket wins

Spain have broken Australia's long-standing record for the most consecutive wins in international cricket, notching 22 straight T20I victories. They equalled Australia's mark of 20 wins in December 2024 by defeating Croatia 5-0, then surpassed it by chasing down 132 against Finland, and extended the streak by beating the Isle of Man on Saturday, Times Now reports.

Spain's unbeaten run began in February 2023 with four wins over the Isle of Man. They resumed in April 2024 with back-to-back victories against Jersey, followed by a 5-0 sweep of Croatia, and wins over Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Greece, and Finland.

Australia's record streak of 20 wins, including three consecutive ODI World Cup titles from 1999 to 2007, was set between January and May 2003 and ended when the West Indies won the fifth ODI of a series. Uganda are third on the list with 17 consecutive wins. Spain next face Luxembourg and Bulgaria on August 17 and 18, and can become the first team to register 25 consecutive wins.
