Ravindra Jadeja two wickets shy of 350 in Tests

India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja needs two wickets to reach 350 in Test cricket, a milestone that would place him in elite company. The 37-year-old enters the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle on August 15 with 348 wickets and 4,095 runs from 89 Tests, Times of India reports.

If he gets there, Jadeja will become only the second Indian after Kapil Dev to combine 4,000-plus runs with 350 wickets. He would also be the first Indian spin-bowling all-rounder to achieve the double. Jadeja's Test wickets have come at an average of 25.12, with 15 five-wicket hauls.

Meanwhile, Times Now reports that Jadeja made a candid admission about his early-career batting struggles. He told Sanjay Manjrekar that batting at No. 8 or 9 made him feel the team lacked faith in his ability. Since 2018, his Test batting average has risen from 29.4 to 43.11, and he now regularly bats at No. 6 or 7.
