Revenue inspector assaulted in Puri over land dispute

Odishatv.in reports that Ashutosh Sahoo, a revenue inspector in Puri's Matiapada area, was assaulted near his land in Pipili Athabatia on Saturday night around 11 pm. He had gone to guard a boundary wall he was building, after neighbours demanded a proper measurement of the two properties first.

The two sides had agreed to hire private surveyors, but Sahoo began construction anyway. He stood near the wall overnight in case anyone tried to demolish it. A verbal argument with some people escalated into a physical attack, injuring Sahoo's head.

A complaint was filed at Pipili police station. Police rescued Sahoo and admitted him to a hospital. Odishatv.in says initial reports that he was attacked on his way home from work were incorrect; the assault was linked to the personal land boundary dispute. An investigation is underway.
