Scindia stock rises in MP, Goyal likely to keep commerce

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia's political stock has risen in Madhya Pradesh circles, Free Press Journal reports, citing observers. Separately, the same publication says Piyush Goyal is likely to retain the commerce portfolio as US free-trade talks, led by him, are at an advanced stage.

In a notable secretary-level reshuffle, Pallavi Jain Govil has been posted as the new Secretary, Corporate Affairs. Her husband Manoj Govil, also an IAS officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre, served as secretary in the same ministry three years ago. Anurag Jain, the newly appointed CEO of NITI Aayog, will join on August 17. He was until recently Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh.
