Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta reunite for Partition film Batwaara

Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta are back together on screen after years in Raj Kumar Santoshi's period drama *Batwaara*, set against the Partition. The film, which has been in the making since Santoshi first narrated it to Deol in 2010, releases amid high expectations from the *Gadar* star's fan base.

Deol told New Indian Express that the long delay happened because producers felt he and Santoshi were not "saleable". After *Gadar* became a hit, the project moved forward. Zinta said she took the role at the insistence of Aamir Khan and was drawn to the period setting. She added that she did not miss films and that her greatest milestone was spending time with her family.

Deol also confirmed he has started shooting for Nitesh Tiwari's *Ramayan*. Zinta ruled out working on OTT series, saying she prefers not to be away from her two young children for long periods.
