Telangana Police use AI for smarter investigations and faster response

Telangana Police are integrating artificial intelligence to upgrade investigations, real-time data sharing and service delivery. Director General of Police CV Anand said the force is focusing on upgrading CCTNS 2.0, TG COP 2.0, and portals related to new criminal laws, cyber crime and narcotics. The move follows a slide in national rankings after years of inadequate monitoring, he told Times of India.

AI will transcribe distress calls to Dial 112, pin the caller's location, and dispatch alerts to the concerned police station within one minute. Five drones under Dial 112 control can reach a spot 1 km away in about a minute, providing live aerial feeds for crowd and law-and-order management. The system can also coordinate responses from fire, disaster management, child help and women safety agencies.

The DGP said AI and drones will play a key role in predictive crowd management during the next Pushkaralu in 2025. The Dial 112 centre can handle 900 calls simultaneously.
