Telangana worker’s widow gets Rs 40,000 aid from NRI

NRI entrepreneur Akunoori Shankar has given Rs 40,000 to the family of Telangana worker Gurram Mahesh, who died in a road accident in Saudi Arabia. The money will cover document attestation and court fees for filing a compensation case in a Saudi court.

Mahesh, a toddy tapper from Anantharam village in Jagtial district, died on July 6, 2023, about 45 days after arriving in Saudi Arabia. His wife, Pooja Rani, and their two daughters sought help from CM Pravasi Prajavani in Hyderabad on Friday, August 14.

The assistance was handed over at the grievance meeting. Officials from the Telangana government and the NRI advisory committee were present. The next step is to pursue the compensation claim in Saudi Arabia.
