Toxic advance bookings cross Rs 10 crore, 2.5 lakh tickets sold

Yash and Kiara Advani's film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has sold over 2.5 lakh tickets in advance bookings across India, collecting approximately Rs 11 crore before its release, according to early estimates from Sacnilk as reported by Times Now. The film, directed by Geethu Mohandas, has sold 45,000 tickets in the top national chains PVR Inox and Cinepolis for its opening day, five days before release, Pinkvilla reports.

The language-wise breakdown shows Kannada leading with 1,53,092 tickets and Rs 7.21 crore, followed by Hindi with 98,907 tickets and Rs 3.71 crore. Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam account for smaller numbers. The film is set for a global release across around 12,000 screens, though the final count is yet to be confirmed.

Times Now notes that advance bookings opened nearly a week ahead of the release, and the film's teaser and trailer have generated both buzz and criticism over its portrayal of women. Toxic is an A-rated actioner set in Goa between the 1940s and 1970s, telling the story of a gangster named Raya.
