2 more phones seized in Bengaluru jail after Prajwal Revanna phone found

Prison officials seized two damaged Redmi phones and a 32 GB pen drive from Parappana Agrahara Central Prison in Bengaluru during late-night raids on August 11-12. The searches came hours after the Central Crime Branch recovered a mobile phone, charger, SIM card, pen drive and notebook from the high-security cell of convicted rapist and former MP Prajwal Revanna. A separate FIR has been registered. DCP M. Narayana has refuted reports that the pen drive contained obscene videos, saying all seized items are sealed and will undergo forensic examination.

DIG of Prisons Jinendra Khanagavi has launched a probe into how the phone entered the barrack despite security arrangements. The notebook reportedly contained phone numbers of Revanna's family and acquaintances. Investigators suspect the phone had been in use since March and that more devices may still be operational inside. Assistant Superintendent Iranna Rangapur has been suspended. Home Minister Priyank Kharge said action will be taken against anyone who helped Revanna obtain or use the phone.
