Two suspects rob Dillards at gunpoint in Lubbock mall

Police swarmed South Plains Mall in Lubbock, Texas, on August 15 after a reported armed robbery at a Dillards store. Two male suspects allegedly displayed a gun and fled the scene. Videos posted on social media showed a heavy police presence, including officers and a DPS helicopter.

Local news pages reported that two men committed an armed robbery at the mall's Dillards. A witness said the suspects flashed a gun near a pretzel stand. Unverified scanner reports described one suspect as a black male in all black and another as a Hispanic male wearing a cream jacket with a purple backpack. Some witnesses said police did not lock down the mall, allowing families to walk in.

The Lubbock Police Department has not officially commented. Investigations are ongoing to locate the suspects.
