Vijay becomes second Tamil Nadu CM to address in English

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay on Saturday became the second chief minister of the state to deliver an Independence Day address in English. He repeated the key points of his Tamil speech from the ramparts of Fort St George for the benefit of those who do not understand Tamil.

Among the points he underlined in English were his mission to eliminate corruption and his request to the people to show zero tolerance towards it. The Deccan Chronicle reports that Vijay chose to highlight these themes in the second language of his address.
