60,000 Apply For Indiramma LIG Housing In CURE Draw Aug 20

The Deccan Chronicle reported that over 60,000 families have applied for the Indiramma LIG Housing Scheme in the Core Urban Region of Economy (CURE) area. A draw of lots to select beneficiaries for 7,340 houses will be held on August 20.

Applications for another 1,920 homes remain open until September 3. Tenders for construction have already been floated, and work is expected to begin in the first week of September, said Telangana Housing Board secretary V.P. Gautam. Each 1 BHK flat (528 sq ft) requires a beneficiary contribution of Rs 6 lakh, with a government subsidy of Rs 5 lakh. Eligible families must have an annual income below Rs 6 lakh and no property within Outer Ring Road limits.

Separately, the Hyderabad district administration announced that 3,192 Indiramma 2BHK houses will be allotted by the end of September. Over 2.22 lakh new ration cards have been sanctioned in the district, and proposals for repairing 590 dilapidated houses in six colonies have been submitted to the government.
