Vijay’s cousin calls Sangeetha ‘Anni’ at Jason Sanjay’s Sigma launch

At the audio and trailer launch of Jason Sanjay's debut directorial film Sigma in Chennai on September 18, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay's cousin Sanjeev publicly referred to Sangeetha as 'Anni' (sister-in-law), days after she withdrew divorce proceedings against Vijay. Times Now reports that Sanjeev, creative producer of Sigma, said Sangeetha is as important to him as Vijay, and revealed she had approached him three years ago seeking his support for Jason's filmmaking ambitions.

The Times of India reports that Jason Sanjay thanked his mother Sangeetha, father Vijay ('who is the Chief Minister today'), and sister Divya, and described Sanjeev as someone he trusts most. Sigma, a Tamil-Telugu bilingual starring Sundeep Kishan and Faria Abdullah, is scheduled for theatrical release on October 2.

Sanjeev told the audience he initially lost touch with Jason for three years after college, but when they met again, the young filmmaker asked him to support his film, which he instantly agreed to. Vikranth, speaking at the event, urged Sanjeev to extend the same support to Jason as he had to Vijay.
