Marathon claim in Clancy case false; friend theory gains traction

A viral claim that Patrick Clancy ran a half-marathon with his current wife days before his ex-wife Lindsay killed their three children has been debunked. Hindustan Times reports that the Bermuda Half Marathon results show the couple ran in 2026, not 2023. Patrick and Rachel Danis began dating in 2024 and married in 2026, long after the January 2023 killings.

Separately, a conspiracy theory circulating online suggests Patrick's friend Kyle Carney impersonated him on the day of the killings. The theory stems from a work email sent at 5:24pm, when Patrick was reportedly running errands. However, no court evidence supports the claim, and Patrick testified the email could have been sent from his phone. Lindsay Clancy has pleaded not guilty by reason of postpartum psychosis. The trial continues.
