WWE legend Jim Ross shares first photo after brain surgery

WWE Hall of Fame commentator Jim Ross, 74, has posted a photo on X showing the surgical site on his head after undergoing brain surgery on August 12. The picture shows a shaved section of his head with a curved wound sealed by stitches, taken in what appears to be a hospital room. Ross captioned the image: 'The proof is in the pudding!'

According to timesnownews.com, Ross needed the procedure to drain excess fluid in his skull that was affecting his memory and balance. Doctors drilled a hole in his skull and inserted a small tube leading to his stomach. His co-host Conrad Thompson reported that Ross's daughter said the surgery went well and he was expected to return home by Friday. Ross had spent nearly 40 days in hospital after collapsing at home in July.

This is the latest in a series of health battles for Ross. He was treated for skin cancer in 2021, had hip surgery in 2024, and underwent colon cancer surgery in May 2025. His last AEW commentary appearance was at Double or Nothing in May, and his AEW contract is set to expire this month.
