10-hour power outage hits 12 societies on Dwarka Expressway

At least 12,000 to 15,000 families in 12 societies along the Dwarka Expressway faced power cuts lasting up to 10 hours on Saturday, officials and residents said. The affected areas included Emaar Imperial Gardens, Shapoorji Pallonji Joyville, Adani Oyster, BPTP Amstoria, ROF Aalayas, Suncity Avenue, Emaar Gurgaon Greens, Conscient Heritage Max, Satya The Hermitage, M3M Woodshire, ATS Kocoon and SBTL Caladium. Residents said the outage on Independence Day forced them to cancel plans and spoiled food stored in fridges.

A senior DHBVN official said a fault in a 33kV feeder cable box at the 220kV substation in Sector-107 caused the outage. The load was shifted to other feeders to restore supply. Another fault in a vacuum circuit breaker panel at Joy Ville led to a 10-hour disruption for that society and Imperial Gardens. Officials said the realtor would fix the cable box fault within two days, while supply continued through an alternate feeder. Repeated tripping of a 33kV feeder in Sectors 103, 107 and 109 added to the outage duration.
