Gurugram civic body floats Rs 99 lakh tender for CCTV project

The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram has floated a Rs 99.1 lakh tender for installing CCTV cameras and a public address system on Sector 46 main road and its adjoining market under the Smart Roads project. The tender, issued on Friday, seeks bidders for supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the equipment. A similar tender for Palam Vihar was earlier withdrawn due to lack of bidders, officials said.

Separately, two GMDA road projects, the Iffco Chowk-Southern Peripheral Road stretch (Rs 47 crore) and a link road between Sectors 68-69 and Gurugram-Sohna Road (Rs 25 crore), will be placed before a high-powered committee chaired by chief minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday for approval. Contract negotiations are expected to follow. GMDA also plans to start work on flyovers at Dadi Sati Chowk and Ambedkar Chowk by year-end after receiving multiple bids.

The Smart Roads project aims to upgrade 124.42 km of roads with improved pedestrian and cycling infrastructure, drainage and lighting. MCG has started work on 20.6 km, while about 70 per cent of projects remain in the planning stage. Contractors for four recently tendered stretches have five months to complete work.
