Hyderabad to face 24-hour water cut from August 17

Drinking water supply will be disrupted in several parts of Hyderabad for 24 hours from 10 am on August 17 to 10 am on August 18, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) announced. The disruption is due to works on the 1600 mm diameter pumping main in the Singur project. Supply may be completely or partially stopped, or provided at low pressure.

Areas affected include bulk connections around BHEL, MIG-I & II, Rail Vihar, Chandanagar, ISB, and KPHB Colony. Shaikpet, Kokapet, Manikonda, and Narsingi will be partially affected, while Gayatrinagar, Borabanda, and ESI will receive no water. Low-pressure supply is expected in SR Nagar, Erragadda, Ameerpet, Banjara Hills, Kondapur, and several other localities. The board has asked consumers to use water sparingly.
