Amy Hunt wins Euro sprint double, Kristjan Ceh retains discus crown

Britain's Amy Hunt completed a European sprint double by winning the 200m in 22.19 seconds at the championships in Birmingham, adding to her 100m gold. Rhasidat Adeleke of Ireland took silver (22.28), while Dina Asher-Smith won bronze, equalling the record for most continental medals by a female athlete with seven. Hunt later earned a third gold as part of the women's 4x100m relay team, which clocked 42.05 seconds.

Kristjan Ceh of Slovenia retained his discus title with a championship record of 72.51m, beating world record-holder Mykolas Alekna of Lithuania (silver) and Germany's Henrik Janssen (bronze). Germany claimed five medals on the night, including decathlon gold for Leo Neugebauer and a steeplechase title for Gesa Felicitas Krause. Andy Diaz Hernandez of Italy jumped the fourth-longest triple jump in history at 18.15m to win gold.
