Andrew Gutman signs new Chicago Fire FC deal through 2028-29

Chicago Fire FC have signed homegrown defender Andrew Gutman to a new contract through the 2028-29 season. The 29-year-old Chicago native has played 70 matches across all competitions since December 2023, helping the Fire qualify for the MLS Cup Playoffs in 2025, their first postseason since 2017.

Gutman, a product of the Chicago Fire Academy, scored in the U-17/18 National Championship final win. He began his professional career at Celtic in 2019 and has played for FC Cincinnati, Atlanta United, New York Red Bulls and Colorado Rapids. Coach Gregg Berhalter said Gutman has a special connection to the club and city, and his commitment is unwavering.
