AP forms state-level panel for 2026 teachers awards

The Andhra Pradesh government has constituted a state-level committee to select educators for the State Teachers’ Awards-2026. School education department secretary Kona Sasidhar issued Government Order Rt No 129 on Thursday, forming the panel that will oversee the selection process and finalise the awardee list within the prescribed quota.

The committee will be chaired by HRD minister Nara Lokesh. The school education secretary will serve as vice-chairman, and the director of school education will function as convener. Other members include the director of the AP State Council of Educational Research and Training and educationist and former MLC Ramu Surya Rao. The government directed the director of school education to conduct the selection process according to prescribed guidelines.
