Bhiwandi crime branch arrests vehicle thief, recovers 5 vehicles worth Rs 1.87 lakh

Bhiwandi Crime Branch Unit-2 has arrested Akshay Pawar (22), a resident of Hingoli district, and recovered four stolen motorcycles and an autorickshaw valued at Rs 1.87 lakh. The arrest followed a tip-off received by Police Havaldar Sabir Shaikh.

During interrogation, Pawar confessed to multiple vehicle thefts. Five cases have been registered under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Nizampura, Shantinagar, Hill Line and Manpada police stations. The Crime Branch is investigating whether Pawar acted alone or as part of a larger network.

The operation was supervised by Additional Commissioner of Police Punjabrao Ugle, DCP Amarsingh Jadhav and ACP Shekhar Bagde. Police have urged vehicle owners to adopt security measures and report suspicious activity.
