BJP picks Deepak Mhaskey as IT cell chief for Gen Z outreach

The BJP has appointed Deepak Mhaskey as the new head of its IT cell, with a brief to focus on reaching Gen Z voters through platforms like Instagram Reels. Mhaskey, a long-time party worker, said his strategy will prioritise creating positive and engaging content tailored to younger audiences.

"We are engaging with Gen Z. Will ensure good and positive content reaches Gen Z. Will make a specific strategy focused on Gen Z outreach," Mhaskey said. His appointment signals the party's push to strengthen digital communication ahead of upcoming elections.

Mhaskey replaces Amit Malviya, who held the post for years. The BJP's IT cell has been central to its election campaigns, and the new focus reflects efforts to capture the growing influence of short-form video content among youth.
