BMC issues stop-work notice for Ajay Devgn’s Juhu bungalow over salon plan

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued a stop-work notice for actor Ajay Devgn's 7,802 sq ft bungalow in Mumbai's Juhu after work began on a proposed luxury salon and spa. The notice, from the K-West ward, followed a complaint by the Kapol Co-operative Housing Society, which opposes the commercial use of the residential property. Residents have raised concerns over parking, security, and noise on narrow internal roads.

The bungalow at Plot S-10, JVPD Scheme, was leased to Florian Hurel Salons Pvt Ltd under a five-year agreement registered on August 10, with starting rent of Rs 16 lakh per month, reports Livemint. The Devgn family has sought four weeks to respond to the notice. A source from the actor's camp told Hindustan Times that all requisite permissions and approvals have been duly obtained. The resolution depends on whether the paperwork satisfies BMC's commercial zoning rules.
