Cyberabad police advise WFH, online classes for rain, Ganesh immersions

Cyberabad Traffic Police have advised IT companies to allow staggered early logouts from 2 pm and promote work from home between September 18 and 25, in view of moderate to heavy rainfall forecast and Ganesh immersion processions. Schools and educational institutions have been urged to shift to online or virtual classes during the period to minimise travel risks for students.

The advisory was issued on Thursday after a meeting chaired by Cyberabad Commissioner M Ramesh and other officials, based on forecasts by the Meteorological Department and local weather enthusiast Telangana Weatherman. The Hindu reports the measure aims to reduce travel risks and pressure on road infrastructure, while The Hans India notes the police objective is to reduce traffic congestion and ensure emergency services face no disruptions. The Siasat Daily adds that companies were asked to prioritise safety and convenience of employees and students.

The advisory applies to the Cyberabad commissionerate area, which includes major IT corridors. The police have urged the public to avoid unnecessary travel and exercise caution during the period.
