Delhi Traffic Police launches Mobile Traffic Unit on three ranges

Delhi Traffic Police has launched a Mobile Traffic Unit (MTU) on a pilot basis in three ranges to enforce traffic rules and improve police visibility on busy stretches. The unit will initially operate on two identified stretches in each range: Delhi University and ISBT Kashmere Gate in the central range, Bhagwan Mahavir Marg and Azadpur Mandi area in the northern range, and NH 24 and Vikas Marg in the eastern range.

Unlike static deployment, traffic personnel under the MTU will keep moving along the identified stretches, responding to congestion and disruptions as they arise. Officials said the unit will focus particularly on violations such as improper parking, which can slow down traffic. The mobile deployment is aimed at ensuring personnel can reach trouble spots rather than remain stationed at a single point. The performance of the pilot will determine its further expansion across other busy stretches.
