Enzo Fernandez jeered by Chelsea fans in friendly win

Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez was booed by sections of the home support when he came on as a substitute during Saturday's 3-1 friendly win over Real Sociedad at Stamford Bridge. The 25-year-old Argentina international entered the pitch in the 62nd minute to replace Reece James, drawing jeers from fans who were aware of his stated desire to leave the club. However, some supporters voiced their backing for Fernandez, who had told Chelsea in May he wanted to move on.

The club has reportedly set an asking price of 120 million pounds (Rs 1,200 crore) for Fernandez, but no bids have been received in the current summer transfer window. The midfielder scored Argentina's equaliser in the World Cup semifinal win over England in July but was sent off in the final defeat to Spain. Meanwhile, record signing Morgan Rogers scored on his Stamford Bridge debut, and Joao Pedro netted a double to give new manager Xabi Alonso victory in Chelsea's final pre-season match before their Premier League opener at Fulham.
